Cribbing

I enjoyed talking with you today about my ViceBreaker. I am really happy with the results I've experienced with my collar. Before ViceBreaker, I was afraid I'd have to accept the fact that my beautiful gelding was a confirmed cribber. Not anymore! This gelding is a highly intelligent horse, and quickly figured out just what the ViceBreaker did. At first, he played some pretty amusing games with me when he had the collar on. Because he'd become used to a cribbing collar, he wouldn't crib when the ViceBreaker was on his neck, but when we took it off to recharge it; he'd head to his favorite spot. We outsmarted him by attaching the receiver to the throatlatch of his halter (he generally wears a halter, so he didn't make the connection between the correction and his halter.) It took just one evening to convince him that cribbing just wasn't fun anymore!

I also used it to re-educate another gelding that had become aggressive to his pasture mates when there was a mare in heat in an adjoining pasture. Thanks to ViceBreaker's long range, I was able to stay completely out of the gelding's sight. Again, in one evening, I was able to stop his dangerous behavior.

I admit I was skeptical when I first learned about ViceBreaker but the product has thoroughly convinced me that there is indeed a humane, effective tool for addressing bad habits and poor behavior in horses. Congratulations of a fine product. Best wishes for your continued success.

 Dear ViceBreaker,

We recently purchased a ViceBreaker from Valley Vet Supply and what a product. My daughter and I own several Quarter Horses and several months ago we bought a really nice sorrel gelding. The previous owner kept him in a stall and he had not been worked for a period of time which led to a major problem. We got the horse back to our ranch before we discovered the habit. Other than cribbing, he is an exceptional horse and a great prospect. We bought the Miracle Collar, The Cribb-r and painted all the posts and boards in his paddock but to no avail. This horse responded to nothing and it frustrated us to no end, which led us to try the ViceBreaker as a last resort.

The first day we placed the ViceBreaker on the horse and turned him loose in the pasture he went over to several feed buckets to crib. Well, he was in for a surprise and after only five zaps the horse has stopped all cribbing activities. After a week he still has not cribbed even once and he is now eating correctly which is putting weight on him. Words cannot express the thanks for creating such a product that has helped us. I would recommend your exceptional product to anyone with a problematic horse. Again in closing, we want to say Thank you!

A well-bred two year old started to crib in the field and then in the stall. After one day of wearing the collar and receiver, as a period of introduction, we turned her out after her exercise period with it all charged to give her a shock. She immediately walked to the fence and as she bit the rail we pushed the transmitter button. We were dismayed, as she showed no signs of a shock. It took two pushes on the booster button to up the stimulation until she felt the shock. This was a tremendous success -she reared back and left the fence bucking. After a moment she returned to a different panel, again we pushed the transmitter button as she touched the rail. Again she retreated with a buck and a kick. We waited out of sight for about ten minutes. She never went back to the fence.

That evening we went to the field to feed. There were nine mares in the field. After one bite of her pile of feed, she headed for the fence. We were behind some of the mares so she couldn't see us in our Jeep. As soon as she touched the fence, she got her shock and left the fence without a buck or a kick, letting us know she felt her cribbing was giving her the discomfort. The next morning when we brought her in from the big pasture to feed her in a smaller paddock (more convenient for us near the stables) we zapped her in three different places on the fence and she has not even tried to crib in the field or the barn since.

We are delighted with our ViceBreaker device and were already asked by three different stables if they can rent it.

Gratefully,

The University of Findlay Western Equestrian Program in Findlay, Ohio has a training program of approximately 300 horses. The horses are housed in stalls and come from all walks of life. With the numbers of horses that we have here there are always horses that come to us with bad stall manners. We have cribbers, weavers, stall kickers and horses that get aggressive at feeding. Tri-Tronics graciously donated two of their electronic collars for us to test on some of our horses that had problems. We have used it for about a year now and have been very satisfied with the result of the collar.

The Vicebreaker was used on a stallion that kept rearing over the stalls at other horses. This activity would make this horse sore in his hocks and could not be ridden. After about four sessions with this horse the activity ceased. At the present time we occasionally use the Vicebreaker on any horse that is causing trouble in the barns. We have become used to the device and know how to prevent some of the problems before they become a habit. It is a very useful tool. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to use the Vicebreaker.

I have had my ViceBreaker for at least two years. My stallion became a cribber while in training and I was devastated. I purchased the ViceBreaker and use it routinely for two weeks. He lost his desire to crib. Later I used it on an alpha mare that needed to know not to impose herself on our passive mares. It worked wonderfully!! Thank you ViceBreaker!

I stopped a 16-year-old stallion from cribbing. He had cribbed since he was 7 years old. I used the collar one time then 2 weeks later I caught the horse cribbing. Again I used the collar and after several months he has not cribbed and has gained approximately 300 pounds.
